DigIT! to BuildIT! has been created to attract young people into the Extractives and Building Products industries. Secondary school students are given an industry-focused project which is relevant to their curriculum and for which they can win prizes for themselves and their schools.
Twinning
An integral part of the programme is the twinning scheme in which each school is given the opportunity (subject to availability) to link with a local employer in the industry e.g. a building product manufacturer, or a quarrying company etc. This twinning initiates a relationship which can range from simply a visit to the school by a company representative to discuss the project and advise on the best solution, to a visit by the class to the employer site for a real experience of the industry in action.
The extent of the twinning can be agreed by the school and the employer.
Vetting and Barring Scheme
There is no issue as far as “vetting” of your staff is concerned unless there is more than one school visit to the employer every month.

- We shall do our best to find a school to link with you (NB it is not always possible to complete the twinning due to circumstances beyond our control).
