As an employer in the building products or extractives industries you no doubt recognise that you are competing with many other industries to attract bright young people who possess the energy, enthusiasm and ideas to drive your business to a successful future. The aim of DigIT! to BuildIT! is to inform young people about the real benefits our industry can offer over others and to inspire them to choose a career in the building products or extractives industries..
Twinning
A key part of the DigIT! to BuildIT! Programme is the twinning scheme where we do our utmost to link participating schools with local employers in the industry. Twinning companies are asked to give up a few hours of their time to liaise with the teacher at the twinned school and attend a lesson with 14 -19 year old students to take part in a discussion about the building products and extractives industries. Employers can request to receive all necessary background information on the DigIT! to BuildIT! course in advance by contacting the DigIT! to BuildIT! team on 01235 432018 or email digittobuildit@proskills.co.uk.If possible we hope that employers will invite the DigIT! to BuildIT! students and teachers to visit their sites and show them at first hand how the industry works. This is an ideal way to bring the industry to life for the students.
